Look at some of the fences I see in my travels. Nothing is wasted. Not even a stick. Notice the pieces of motobike tires used to make the gate hinges. Udon Thani, Issan, Thailand.
Turns out to be anything from old nails, to string, pieces of rubber and wire. In some places the limberness of the stick is used and it is woven into more ridged poles in the structure.
Ah weird, I thought nails would split those sticks and I didn't see any string so I thought they had some special, 7-headed snake magic or someth'in. Thanks.
How are they fastening the sticks? I can't tell...
ReplyDeleteDOn't know how they are fastened. I'll check.
