Hot dog days

It is so hot here now.  The rains are going to begin soon, I hope.  What is hard to believe though is that the Thais will wear long sleeve shirts and coats, even winter coats.  I guess it is to protect themselves from the sun.  They hate looking dark and go to great lengths to stay light as possible.  Almost all creams and deodorants have a "whitening" component/claim.  They also wrap their heads with cloth/towels.  They look like Ninjas or liquor store robbers.  The dogs hide under cars in the shade all day now.  The temp here in Udon is expected to be 39C today.  That is about 102F. I have seen dogs get run over when they fall asleep under a bus when it is parked and not wake up when the bus is moved.  Yuck!  See more about the dogs at
